Understanding the world from all angles...

Michal's films are meant to help women... What does that mean?Filmy dla Kobiet poster

I want to convince everybody that learning how to listen is worth the effort. Society is not a zero-sum game. If a man takes the time to consider another person's interests as if they were his own, he will be better for it. He will feel better. He will be a stronger and more steady individual and all people will benefit.Pointer

Through hard work and perseverance, I've learned to start listening to women. I'd be proud to give everyone a chance to make that lesson stick for them.

I've decided to export fine art handcrafted by women in Poland to America. High quality handcrafted art produced by high quality women deserves to be shared. The more I can sell stateside to people who know the difference, the more I can buy from those whose worthy hands to continue the fight for openness and equality, a fight that I've taken to the world wide web.

Your support ensures that films for women will make a difference.

Janina relates the misfortunes that befell her mother's family during and towards the end of the war as an outbreak of typhus spread across the western steppe.

Michal's Dictionary:
Unrequited Love Quotes

Love and hope. I say the words and I still wonder what it means.

I think of all the images, the poems, the quotes, the songs, the stories. The symbols.

I think of my own work, the Fiction Corpus, which I tested and analyzed because I too wanted to know what it was about. Sure enough, the words love and hope were two of the most frequent words I had used.

Clearly love and hope are a potent fuel. They've driven many a work of art. The've helped create many beautiful things. Maybe that's it.

Use of Love in The Gospel of Jesus H.

A picture of the planet Mars

An experimental science fiction Christology that makes Jesus the hard boiled narrator of his own early years on a bizarro earth made dark by volcanic ash and informally ruled by a man from Mars who sells bottled air.

Personal design was key. A Capitalist would spend, at most, an hour for grooming, but his or her family might take an average of three hours for an average occasion, never less than two, and five at most (although seven was not unheard of - especially if Guderians were involved). The way you could tell was by counting the difference between a Capitalist's arrival and his or her family's. No Capitalist would ever wait for his or her family, no matter how quick they be and even if that family were his or her greatest pride. It was a great sign of disrespect among Capitalists if one of their kind were suddenly to arrive with his or her family. What would they do? Talk business? Look stupid? It was inconceivable. Families were always late in coming.

Verse 20 from the chapter called Childhood

Those were not laughing days, child. In those days, there was much hardship. Sixty-eight years before I was born, Yellowstone exploded. Five thousand cubic kilometers of boiling magma came to blanket the Earth, kill mankind, terrorize his animals, and fell his favorite trees. Earth bled, and the sky grew dark. It rained blackness. The whole planet stank like a struck match: burning brimstone, like the Bible says - in other words, black clouds of sulfur: they came to suffocate, incinerate. In faraway places, water turned to steam: it boiled. Volcanic ash came tumbling down. The wind blew steam and hot rock. Millions died; the rest wept black tears.

Verse 72 from the chapter called Childhood

We were among Capitalists that day. When we got to the Sanctuary in Lichen, it was full of them. In trousers, crinoline, made-up and dyed - if Marx were alive, he would have sat on a rock and cried. We were impressed, but uncomfortable. We wandered; the church's nave was huge. The floor was emptied. There were three different orchestras preparing to play. I wondered how badly the Church needed money - not many people could rent out a Sanctuary for a private party, but Sacha Cohen-Krupnik, now that his father was dead, was certainly one of them. Perhaps your grandfather was allowed to use it, in exchange for giving the Church and the Cosmonauts their privileges on Mars.

Use of Love in Sex for Children

A drawing of a man between a woman's legs in front of another man in a hospital bed

A literature book narrated by a pair of siblings on either side of the Atlantic whose profoundly weird sexual experiences pose a serious challenge to their traditional understanding of mathematicians, marriage, gay young men and God.

Should I not leave a sign? But what shall it say? Be faithful? Have hope? Love? Who will read my sign? Who will cross this desert? I am only kidding myself. I am the only one walking to Paradise this way.

– Title 3, Regarding a Dream, Chapter 1, The First Day, Part 1, Victory & Calendar Reform, Section 4, Self-image, Paragraph 5, Clauses 8-10

I had another dream last night. It was a continuation of the first dream, and it lasted almost as long, ending almost as violently.

– Title 3, Regarding a Dream, Chapter 3, The Third Day, Part 1, Family & Welfare Reform, Section 1, Relations Between Siblings, Paragraph 1

There was a message from Albert - in Hungarian, of course - but I was able to recognize the name Balaton. He had sent this postcard from Lake Balaton. He addressed it to some place in Romania. There was also a postscript. I was able to recognize two Hungarian words. The first word was the word "love." And the second one was the word "little," which came immediately before a name I fully recognized: Indiana. "Give my love to little Indiana," I whispered. I looked at the postmark. It was August of nineteen sixty-eight. Albert was sixteen years old; Indiana was two. All of a sudden, my loins were inflamed.

Bullets whizzing by a statue of Nikola Tesla

A collection of stories featuring a sexy Parisian ghost, a spooky Moon base full of vagina-faced aliens, a policeman with an Irish name, a truck full of watermelons, a flautist, and a man who has to see another man about a diseased horse.

The second bloom was larger. It was forged into a sickle sword. It was made for deflection and blocking. Gog gave this to his consort, called Magog. It represented the Bhag Mithra, the keeper of the light, whom Magog personified on earth.

– from “In the Beginning, There was Gog,” a fantasy story featuring a crazy kind of guy

"Do they not worship Indra?" asked Gog.

– from “In the Beginning, There was Gog,” a fantasy story featuring a warrior woman

The enemies of Gog were known for their smooth necks. They cursed the land of Gog. Banding together, they pushed him against the Black Sea. Though his people stretched between the Tyras and the Tanais rivers, he was pushed against the sea.

Use of Love in Sorry Ms. Jackson

Chiseled letters from an ancient stone tablet hanging on a wall

A real play. With drama in it. Talk fast. It takes two hours. Set in a guest house. In a small community. After a murder. Lots of suspicion. The characters learn to listen to each other. It's funny.

GREY GOOSE: Look, woman: I'm giving you one last chance. Did you rat me out to the cops or not?

MS. JACKSON: I won't say.

GREY GOOSE: I deserve to be answered.

MS. JACKSON: A man deserves only three things: honesty, gratitude, and remorse. He does not deserve to be answered.

GREY GOOSE: This is the thanks I get after all these years of marriage?

MS. JACKSON: It was your pleasure to be my husband.

GREY GOOSE: The worst of penalties was once reserved for such obstinacy.

MS. JACKSON: Not for treason?

GREY GOOSE: There are worse things than being hanged.

MS. JACKSON: Such as?

– ACT I, lines 311-320

LUKE: Tee tee ta.

FLETCHER: What the devil was that?

LESBIAN: It's a haka dance developed by the Maori people of New Zealand. I didn't know Aussies could appreciate it.

LUKE: It's me old school chant - thanks to the junior rugby union.

GREY GOOSE: Your husband's been teaching it to me.

ALICE: That's what you do together. I thought you drank.

GREY GOOSE: Actually, I just challenged him to a drinking contest. He accepted.

LUKE: I'm not gonna let him drink with the flies, am I? Besides, he just challenged me.

MS. JACKSON: Go.

ALICE: Go.

– ACT I, lines 375-384

(FLETCHER enters.)

FLETCHER: What's going on?

MS. JACKSON: Your father is harassing me.

GREY GOOSE: I'm not.

FLETCHER: He says he's not.

MS. JACKSON: Don't listen to him.

Use of Love in Miscellaneous Dingbats

The title of the book at the end of a string of miscellaneous dingbats

A story book full of short fiction stories. An interesting bedtime mystery. A fairy tale. Science fiction romance. Adult life. Uninspiring gay fiction. Horror.

I killed my sister. I live with it. I killed her because she loved the enemy a little too much. She lost herself in that love. That's why she wanted to die. When I tell people the truth they treat it like it's a joke. Like I'm saying she walked into my knife. I did kill her. I've never denied it. I stabbed her. My arm came down upon her. I put the blade into her heart. That's where she needed it.

I'm not a bad man.

– from “The Testament of Publio Orazio,” a horror story without a lot of screaming coming straight out of Roman mythology

Sir Lewis reached the last problem. If a man loves a woman. This was Miss Day's problem. What are the chances that she will love him back. There were two seconds left on the clock. Sir Lewis started scribbling. 100 percent.

"Time," said the proctor.

– from “The Skirt on the Proctor,” a kid story about building love in an unforgiving world

Sir Lewis and the Asian girl were soon joined by a third man. Daniel. A total dork. But not completely unskilled. The Asian girl had gotten better too. And slimmer. She was wearing skirts now just like the proctor had before the proctor got pregnant. She was hot, as Daniel put it. And she had a beautiful name. Miss Day.

That year Sir Lewis, Miss Day, and Daniel placed third in the Math Olympiad. Sir Lewis was in love. He promised Miss Day they would do better the next year. And they did. They won.

– from “The Skirt on the Proctor,” a kid story about cooking up romance in an unforgiving world

Love is the answer...

What are we waiting for? Let's accept it!

Are you a eunuch?

The art show that defies abuse

St. Sebastian

Wall art symbolizing strength and protest

St. Sebastian was a member of the Roman Emperor's praetorian guard who had the audacity to teach Christian values while on the job. I think active duty American military men and women who don't vote or who don't publicly express a political opinion because of the uniform are either being idiotic or are being cowed by the threat of punishment from a superior. Either way, they're eunuchs. My purpose in creating the St. Sebastian Series is to put the flesh and face of the true soldier front and center. The good soldier puts his mission ahead of himself. He often ends up dead. The true soldier knows a bad mission when he sees one and he isn't afraid to say it. Saint Sebastian was not a cow, despite what clever people would have you believe. Saint Sebastian is a patron saint for all protestors who face the arrows of the mob for speaking out.
